Hello!!!!!!!!

Hello lovelies!!!

How has everyone been?!! I know its been a long long time since I've put anything up and I'm so sorry for being MIA for so long. I have just been enjoying island life and with work I hardly have time to even be on the computer anymore!

I miss it so much but I'm slowly finding time to do things for myself, I haven't set up a makeup desk yet and I need to sort out the lighting because its terrible and the air con in my closet room doesn't work so its a proper sauna in there!

My mum is also here, she came to visit and I'm sure check up on me lol. She's only here for a week but it feels so good to see family and I intend on taking full advantage of her! :)

Anyways here a more pictures!! And I really need to buy myself a new camera, a nice digital SLR just to capture the beauty of this place and of course better pictures for the blog!

One last thing!

I'd like to say a huge and warm welcome to all my new followers! I hope you are enjoying the blog and I'm sending sunshine, sand, sea water and huge hugs to all of yous!

Everyday Face...

Hello Biuties!

I hope  you are all having a nice and peaceful week so far!

I'm having a great time, its so so hot and humid here but thank goodness for wind!!!

I started working yesterday so I need to figure out when to blog and stuff but I'll get the hang of it pretty soon!

Office is pretty relaxed and has air con so I can have a full face of makeup and not worry about it melting and looking all sorts of nasty by the end of the day.

It has been raining pretty much everyday since I've arrived and the humidity levels are out of this world and the rain doesn't help either!

I personally still prefer to not put so much on my face as I don't work in the afternoons and tend to go out somewhere with the hubby or just sit in front of the tv.

This is my everyday face so far. I'll definitely put color on the lids once in a while but I'll still keep it simple and quick!

Here's what I use daily:

MAC Select SPF15 liquid foundation (using a tiny bit on the t-zone)

MAC Mineralize skinfinish natural in dark (on the whole face)

MAC blusher in "Hipness" or Nars blusher in "Gilda" It adds a nice peachy and healthy glow to the skin!

On the picture I have "Rosy Nude" lipstick by Revlon. I use it everyday I'm so in love with it!

On the lids all I do is apply UDPP and with a fluffy brush apply "Texture" e/s by MAC

Of course mascara (Maybelline Falsies) and eyeliner (L'oreal Superliner)

But where am I??

Hello Biuties!!

As some of you know I have moved from the UK and I've received a lot of emails asking me where exactly I was moving to so lets get explaining!

Where am I?

I'm now living in a beautiful Island called Guadeloupe (pronounce it as you please...). 

Its in the West Indies or as some people like to specify in the French West indies.

Its about 4 hours boat ride or 20 minute plane ride to Martinique which is one of the most popular and touristic french department. Celebrities go to St Barth to soak up the sun and get lazy. 

Guadeloupe isn't as touristic but its soo relaxed I'm quite shocked to be honest!

Its a beautiful island lush and humid and the ocean is gorgeous! When you land you can see just how clear the ocean is with its beautiful turquoise color.

Why am I here?
aaahhh Love...

My husband is french and was born here and lived here since he was born. Then he moved to Paris to study which is where and when I met him back in 2003. He moved back here about a year ago and it was only natural that I come along. Plus island life sounds so much relaxing than London right?!

 Views from living room balconies... Gorgeous and soo quiet!

The only problem I have right now are the mosquitoes... they can smell I'm not local so my body is their temple right now... But for some reason they love my feet and specially in between my toes... its horrible! but they better stop tasting me before I go all ninja on them!

There you go, that's my piece said!

I have no idea when I'll be able to do more looks, these days I'm sticking to really simple makeup because its so hot and there's no point applying foundation or anything like that.

Yesterday I was supposed to post a few things but I was so jet lagged and hot and tired that I spent the day lazying around and falling asleep every occasion I had!

But onto our present issue! our blast from the past for today!

June/July 2009

I was starting to experiment with different colors, blushes and red lips. I don't know why I thought that red lips were the only color that would work on WOC and had a bunch of them at that time!

July was also my blush awakening, I used to put wayyy to much on and was picking up every bright colored blush I could find... rookies lol

Since this month is bloggy anniversary *clap* *clap* *clap* I thought it would be fun to look at my different looks throught time and give you a chance to laugh at how rubbish I was before. lol

Keep in mind that I started blogging 2-3 months after I started getting into makeup and all that so some pictures date back to April/May 09.

This is just funny no eyeliner, no mascara, no blending, no eyebrow grooming, wasn't even interested in blushes... 

My lips products consisted of some labello and clear lipgloss, I wasn't even setting my foundation with anything and the list goes on...

Its all been scheduled!

Hello Biuties!

Just another quick update!

Today I'm leaving for Paris and tomorrow taking the plane to see the hubby!

I'm so excited its unreal I don't even think I'll be able to sleep tonight... All the stress of the past months would have been for this moment and it was about bloody time!!

Is it weird that I've been dreaming of duty free at the airport and have a list of what I want?? lol

While doing all this traveling I have scheduled a few posts for you guys, just to keep you entertained while I'm away. I definitely should have done that when I was too busy to post anything in the past month. Stupid me!

So I'm sorry if I take time to answer comments and emails. I promise I will answer everything as soon as I can.

The first ever post!

As its been a year today I thought I'd repost my first post on the blog.

I think it explains pretty well the whys and hows and the picture of my naked face just makes me laugh. If you click on it you get like an extra extra large picture of my face on you screen, showing you my pores and all.

Hiya!

I don't really know how to start this so I'll just start with my name!

I'm Christelle, I'm 22 and live in the UK.

I created this blog first of all for makeup Lol. No one I know is really into makeup, so I don't have people around with whom I can compare products or rant about new collections or get excited with, so I figured why not blog about it that way you'll find people who are interested in what you have say, people you can learn stuff from and most of all people who won't mind you talking about makeup everyday! ;)

I must say I'm not always wearing makeup, I have absolutely no problem going out without foundation or blush BUT I do need my mascara and lip gloss! I love to be feminine and girly and generally looking nice. I love being complimented on my eye shadow and the color of my nails and all, who doesn't right?! But for me makeup isn't a disguise or "fakes" me out. Its just a way to help me look fresh, luminous and intriguing! I like that variety of it, the way you can mix and mach colors and experiment with what can work for you or not.

(That actually is quite a bad picture Lol I have freckles on my cheeks and I looked so tired! Lol)

Growing up I have always been a girly girl with cute things in my hair and loving to wear jewelry, I used to love watching my mum put makeup on even if it was only lipstick, I loved to see her getting ready to go to cocktails in beautiful dresses and hair all made up, putting perfume on and asking advice on which earrings she should wear. I loved staying in her room after she had gone out just because of the beautiful smell. Just writing about it makes me smile!

I love my mum's stuff, even now I love looking at her shoes and bags and jewelry when I go back home and she has great taste :))!! So yeah basically my mum is my inspiration in terms of black women beauty , she is a gorgeous woman who has always taken care of herself and always has a lipstick and crayon in her bag. She always has her hair done and looking good and she always smells gorgeous and yes I admit it, I'm so in love with my mum :D !

Since we were always moving around when I was small I got to see different types of woman and appreciated they beauty and I believe that part of it is why I am comfortable with my complexion and my skin. Yes I have blemishes and scars and facial hair but I take care of them and learned how to hide them and embrace them at the same time. But I am not scared to post my naked face out here because I believe that it is important for some girls and specially the younger generations to know that it is alright, but most of all normal, to have a pimples and scars. Having perfectly smooth and even skin does not exist except in photoshop! All the glossy magazines are selling dreams and I believe that a line has to be drawned between what is real and what isn't. But that is another subject!

So yeah my "journey" starts here and I hope that it will be interesting and funny and all that I want it to be!

Hello biuties!!

Today is a very special day indeed! 

One year ago I decided to create this blog and posted my first post!

I created this blog because I wanted to share my interest for makeup. I was as new as new can be to makeup, I hardly had anything and some of my looks were very very dodgy... lol

First of all I want to thank you guys for sticking with me, being so supportive and participating in the life of this blog. I never thought in a million years that people would be interested in what I had to say. You have definitely made my experience far more enjoyable than I thought it could be. I've made friend that I've never met but still adore, I've made enemies (lol some brands deserve to be branded as enemies!) and I've met genuinely lovely people who helped me so much through the year. 

You guys were there when I started, when I got married, when I was spending way too much and when everything was getting crazy in my life. Needless to say it was an eventful year!

I had already planned to have a birthday party and giveaway but as it falls right in the middle of the move I'll just have a muffin and a glass of wine and save the celebrations for once I'm fully settled and trust me I ain't passing on a party even if its just me myself and I lol

So thank you very much, I raise my glass to you biutiful people (the hubby told me to say fans but I think he is delusional... thinks I'm a rock star or something lol).

I truly appreciate all the love and lets make the next year even better!

The makeup is all packed!

Hello lovelies!

First of all I'm so sorry I've been MIA for a while now. I'm so busy with the move and everything I hardly have time to sleep! 

I definitely have new respect for my mum she did 8 moves and its moving to another country type of move. I never thought it could all be soo stressful!

But anyways onto today's post!

The packers came to pack all of my stuff today, not only did they come 1 day early but they were like 3 hours early as well!!! so I definitely was in overdrive panic!! 

I probably mentioned this in some other post, I packed all of my makeup and clothes myself. I know that these movers are in 99% of the case man with  big hands and no appreciation of a woman's precious makeup! 

So yeah I packed it all, it definitely shows me how much stuff I have specially when it comes to palettes and lip products!!! 

I just wanted to do a quick post showing how everything was packed!
