Cheap Lashes & postage!

Last week I wrote a post about my love for falsies and I've been searching for great deals from all over the world. I found a few places and thought I would share!

I actually placed an order with Cindy from LoveMakeup. She sells falsies as well as some NYX lipsticks and pencil eyeshadows and eyeliners.
What I love is that she also has swatches and that really helps when you're not sure what you want or the shades of what you want.
She has a range of NYX eyelashes, some Red Cherry eyelashes and some generic eyelashes.
Her prices are really good (from $.175 to $3.50 each) and she has a selection of 18 different lashes for $30.

I only bought the 18 lashes pack which is roughly £18.56 and £3 ($5) for postage.
I found that to be a great deal and you spend around £1.20 for a pair (including postage)!
I haven't received them yet so I can't review or talk about the quality or anything but I have to say they really look stunning and I love the fact she has pictures of some eyelashes which you can compare to MAC ones.

I really can't wait to receive them!
Anyways go check her out, she's very helpful and eager to help.

Next is Vastexchange.com they ship worldwide and have a good range of Red Cherry eyelashes (which are 100% human hair btw).
What I love here is the fact that they sell eyelashes in batches of 4 pairs ($9.95- £6.15) or 12 ($15- £9.88). I find these prices pretty good and shipping is determined by your location (£6.18 for UK). Although the pairs are of the same lashes it still is a great deal.
I think its a great idea to buy eyelashes in bulk, they cost you a lot less and you won't have to buy any for some time.
I haven't bought anything from them yet but it will definitely be somewhere I'll need to buy from next month!
Alternatively you can search on ebay and you'll find tons of different eyelashes, some sold as single pairs and some sold in bulks.
So get surfing and buying!

I hope this post was helpful and I can't wait for some of the stuff I ordered online to arrive so I can share it all with you!

*Disclaimer: This is my own personal and honest opinion of the products, I haven't been paid by any of the persons or companies mentioned above and have no affiliation with any of them*

Lets Talk skin!

Hello Biuties!
Today I want to talk about our skins, no matter what your complexion or skin type getting your skin regimen right is the base for a nice and flawless makeup.
I'll be the first to stand up and say my skin is less than perfect. I have large pores and freckles (which I love! (thanks dad)), I have hairs, I have some discolorations and I embrace all that.
As I've always said I can go out without any makeup on my face and still feel beautiful and don't feel like I need to hide anything just because I know that my naked face is ok and is being taken care of.

Here are pictures of my naked face:

And here are pictures with just foundation on:

As you can see the freckles are gone, the dark spots have been covered and you can't see the pores and discolorations. (I used MAC studio fix liquid foundation)
But its important to say that not all that is down to the foundation, what you do before is just important!

I used to have horrible skin and pimples all the time it was just yuck!
At some point I used to use 70% pure alcohol on a cotton pad to "kill" and make disappear the pimples and prevent them from coming back. (God only knows where I got that idea from!)
DO NOT USE ALCOHOL ON YOUR FACE!
what it does is strip your face from its natural oils and its protective layer and you end up with a defenseless skin and a super oily skin at the end of the day.
My skin problems were solved with drinking loads of water (I literally walked around with a 2L bottle with me),
Moisturize, moisturize, MOISTURIZE NO MATTER WHAT YOUR SKIN TYPE IS!
Even if you have oily skin you still need to moisturize. However do not use a cream or lotion, it is better to use a serum or a gel or a moisturize containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This will not add any oil to your face but soothe it and moisturize it.
When applying your moisturizer you do not want to pull or rub and tug. Just stroke your face with your fingertips and massage your face with circular and upwards strokes. Make sure your hands are clean or else you will transfer whatever is on them to your face. You can also use a foundation brush to put your moisturizer on.
I often use Aloe vera gel on my face after cleansing. It is great with healing the skin and keeps it soft while moisturizing it. This is the type of gel I am talking about above.

It is important to say that you don't have to have 1 skin type. It can change according to your mood, your health, weather you are pregnant or not or even if you have your periods. Hormones can mess your routine up so I feel that its best to work on your skin as it is now and not stay with a set regimen regardless of the changes your skin is going through. (Unless you don't have any issues with your skin of course)

Personally in summer I have extremely oily skin and during winter it can get as dry as the desert. This does not mean that I have tons of products either.
I have 2 different moisturizer 1 facial toner and 1 cleanser. Simple but effective!
The type of cleanser you use is also important.
Don't use your soap, its just too harsh for the face no matter your skin type.
There are endless products for different types of skin out there and you just need to find what works for you and that isn't going to strip your face from all of its natural oils.
Using a facial scrub is also a great idea as it will remove any dead skin from the face and will leave you with a truly smooth face. If you haven't tried a facial scrub yet please do and you will see the difference it makes!
My cleanser doubles as an exfoliant (which is just like a scrub but a lot gentler). It is very gentle since I use it everyday. Normally a facial scrub is used 1 to 3 times a week. But since I have oily skin I need it everyday to lift those dead cells off and clean out my pores from all the products I use on it.

Here's what an oily face looks like at the end of the day (with absolutely no makeup retouching during the day- Just to show the extremes)

You can not change your skin type!
The result seen above can not be avoided, my oily skin produces too much sebum and you can only prevent it from producing more than it already does by using the right products and not force it to stop producing what it was meant to produce.
A good way to avoid the result above is of course retouching your face during the day and use blot film/paper which absorbs the excess oils coming out of your skin but it does not budge your makeup at all.

A few bits and bobs that are also important:
Remove ALL of your makeup at night. And if you can wash you face as well, moisturize and go to sleep! Even after a long night out it just takes 5 minutes and is well worth it!
Don't forget your lips!! they also need to be moisturized with lip balm or something like that so that you don't end up with flaky and patchy lips!
Eat your 5 a day (even more). Make your own smoothies and fruit salads. Its a great way to mix your fruits, eat them and of course its delicious!
Don't forget to drink lots of water and most importantly
WEAR SUN PROTECTIONS!!! No matter your skin type or complexion and the season, protect your face AND your body from the rays of the sun. A lot of moisturizers and foundations out there contain SPF so there's no excuse!

I know it was a long post and probably a bit erratic but I hope you got what I was trying to say. Take care of your face to have a beautiful makeup finish!

I realised how long its been since I've updates and just thought I'd let you all know what I've been up to.
I have a few gift cards from Christmas that I have to spend and I've been pondering what to get.
And so there has been a lot of surfing and researching and looking for swatches and stuff like that.
I have a vague idea of what I want to get but I think that the final decision will be made once I'm in front of the products.
Hopefully next month I'll have everything I'm hoping to get and it will definitely be a huge haul video and post!

Here's a list of what I want to get:
Illamasqua - foundation, eyeshadows and blushes
Nars - Blushes and foundation
MAC - some stuff from the current and upcoming collections
Milani - blushes
Some Red Cherry eyelashes as well as some generic brands ones
Inglot - some eyeshadows
NYX- lipsticks and jumbo pencil eyeliner and some NYX ultra pearl mania eyeshadows
Sigma - brushes (This is a definite!!! I need them, its not even a want anymore!!!!)
E.L.F - I saw this eyeliner that I just have to have! And the brush holders also
Nails Inc. - A few nails collection need to be in my possesion!

I've just realised how long this list is!
There will be a lot of spending done but I'm going to stay reasonable and stick to stuff that I've been wanting for a while only like the brushes and eyelashes and foundations and blushes (only!)

I need to be gone!!

Hello Biuties!!
I'm soooo tired of being here in the cold and snow and all that, I was supposed to have moved to the Caribbean by now!!
Unfortunately being African it takes ages to have some papers then there's the matter of sending them from Congo (where I'm from) and the whole thing has taken 4 month now for a simple birth certificate!!!
Of course since I was born in 1986 and since then the country has gone through some wars and difficult phases its not a surprise that the birth records up to a few years ago are simply none existent. So you have to go in front of the courts to get a new one put down in the registries and all.
OMG I'm just so tired of it all.
I still love my beautiful Africa and miss it so so much but right now I'm just fed up with it!!
Hopefully this whole ordeal will be over soon and I can finally start my married life under the sun!
I have to keep positive because if I don't my husband will go absolutely bonkers with all the traveling he has to do between the 2 countries. At least its not messing our relationship right?!
I also just wanted to say a huge thank you to our parents for all the support and help they give us. Without them I know that things would have taken a lot longer!!

But since i'll be moving in the next few months I have to cut down with all the buying I'm doing. Clothes and makeup have to take a break from my card!!

Anyways thanks for reading my rant and I promise following posts will be a lot more cheerful :))

The love of lashes...

Hello Biuties!
My love for fake lashes is just recent, the first time I successfully applied fake lashes was the day of my wedding which was 4 months ago.
Before then, I just had so much trouble putting them on the right way without having my own lashes stuck in the middle of it all.
I do love the depth they give to eyes and the various shapes you can have with them.
There are tons of different types of eyelashes out there and the possibilities as far a color, texture, shape or length are endless.
I have eyelashes from MAC, some bought from Ebay and some drugstore brands but I want more!!!I want HUGE, bold and flirty looking lashes and can't really seem to find my happiness :(
So if you guys buy your lashes from somewhere great and want to share please do!
I want to be an eyelash freak so help me guys!
